Request Copies of Audio Recordings and Transcripts

All requests for audio copies of hearings are processed by the Information Technology Department.

A written request is required to obtain a copy of the hearing CDs and transcripts. Requests should include your name, address, and daytime telephone number.

Your request must also include the following information:

  • the case name
  • the OAH case number (and Soundex Number for the Motor Vehicle Administration cases)
  • the hearing date(s)
  • the location of the hearing
  • the Administrative Law Judge who conducted the hearing

Audio recordings are retained for a three year period.

The OAH charges a fee of $10.00 for the first hearing CD, and $5.00 for each additional CD needed to duplicate (burn) a hearing.

Hearing lengths vary; Media Office personnel will contact the individual making the request with the total amount due to obtain an audio copy of the hearing. Monies are due in advance of the release of the audio recordings or transcripts.

The OAH does not process transcription requests in-house. For further information, please contact a Media Technician.

Accepted forms of payment: Checks and money orders payable to the Maryland State Treasurer.
